Edmonton has so much going on in the summer months. This might be one of the best festivals of the year if you enjoy music. Artists from around the world will perform on multiple different stages throughout the three day music festival. Edmonton Folk Music Festival happens in the beautiful downtown Gallagher Park which is right in the heart of Cloverdale. Easy access to south Edmonton and the downtown city center make this venue an awesome location.
The history of the event dates back to the 1980's which is pretty cool considering it started with only 1 staff and some volunteers.
Transportation to the Edmonton Folk Festival is provided from various park and rides around the city. The largest being the University of Alberta Campus parking lots where festival goers can park all day for $5.00 if they get there one hour prior to the start of the day. The closest LRT stop would be downtown ( Churchill stop ) and then about a 15 minute walk to the grounds. They also have bike racks for lock up near the site.
Enjoy the festival if you're attending this year. Tickets sell out quickly so make sure to look into what is still available online today!
