The enormous market has been going strong since 1983. Shoppers find above-standard groceries and unique gifts. A vast array of vendors visit the market. Years ago, organizers established the following saying: "We Make it! We Bake it! We Grow it! We Sell it!" The market, though, doesn't only have wares to offer. Tour of Alberta To Be Accompanied by Velothon Edmonton This Year

Edmontonians are eagerly awaiting the fun and festivities that accompany one of Alberta's most well-loved events, the Tour of Alberta. This spring, cyclists, spectators, and other joy-seekers were thrilled to discover that there is also going to be a mass participation race, known as Velothon Edmonton.

The Tour of Alberta itself starts in Lethbridge and ends in Edmonton, and is accompanied by free festivals in various towns and cities. In 2015, the tour was enjoyed by over 47 million viewers. Large crowds of enthusiastic fans love to cheer on their favourite expert cyclists; the 2016 race will host 120 top notch riders, a sum composed of 15 teams of 8 professional racers.

Edmonton is a haven for athletes, and the end of August is a celebratory time for the city's many runners. On August 20 - 21, the annual Edmonton Marathon is coming to Edmonton. With less than a month to go, runners are hitting the forest trails and the streets, preparing to rock the marathon. Last year's marathon drew about 3,200 enthusiastic runners. The event attracts elite athletes from around the world; in the past some have used the opportunity as an enjoyable, rewarding way to prep for the Olympics.

The fun begins on Friday night with a Sports Expo at the Shaw Conference Centre. Runners will pick up their packages that night, as they mentally prepare themselves for a great run. All who pick up their packages will have a chance to learn
